Default Could I possibly get 30point with Prophecies and EotN alone?

As the title says, could I get 30 points for the Hall of Monuments if I only own Prophecies and EotN?

As I've been away from GW for quite a long time I really don't know much about it. Have been keeping an eye on GW2 though, which is why I thought that perhaps I should give it a try and get those points. Because, who doesn't like free items, right? Besides, GW was once one of my favorite games and I kinda feel nostalgic all of a sudden.

So, what I was thinking is that I'd buy EotN and level my Necromancer a little bit and hopefully gain some points towards the HoM points. Or would some other class be more suited for it? Think I have a warrior with pretty decent accomplishments... I think, hehe.

Of course having someone (or perhaps even a guild) to make things more interesting would be awesome but is it should be possible to solo all the 30p's, right?

Would be great if someone would give their opinion on the matter. Maybe point me in the right direction in all this, what class would this be the easiest to accomplish with (provided it's possible with those two games alone) or what build ect...

Edit: Riiight, after reading a little on my own, it's pretty obvious I can get those points by having only Prophecies and EotN. Though would still appreciate some guidance

There is actually a good article on the Guild Wars wiki right now regarding the Hall of Monuments and getting points. As the article states, any campaign plus EotN can reach 30 points, though it would be easier with other campaigns as well since you could get certain titles and points easier through them. Still, it is entirely possible to get 30 points in your HoM with just Prophecies.

Here is the link to the article which can give you some good information.

proph + eotn will be definitely the hardest. There are no heroes in proph which you can dedicated to HoM or titles like Kurzik or LB from the other two campaigns.

GL tho ^^

Theoretical maximum HoM points achievable with only Proph+EotN is 44 (assuming you max all pvp titles, and other account wide titles...), but that's too hard and time consuming at this point...

My advice is to finish EotN first, including getting heroes and maxing EotN titles. Saving up some cash from all those vanquishes and dungeons will later help you in getting minipets, Tormented weapons for HoM (since you can't craft them yourself - no Nightfall campaign) and more Destroyer/Oppressor's weapons (if you don't want to bother yourself with repeating dungeons/War in Kryta quests to get more yourself..).

Hope that helps.

You are in for a whole world of pain and suffering.

Good luck though, I would play though Prophecies then EoTN and then start working on EoTN titles (Or whichever titles you think look easier.)

One point at a time is how I take it. hehe

If you look to buy eotn it might be a good idea to just buy the complete collection. I believe it costs about twice as much and you get very much more content.

As for the question,

Monument of Devotion: How much points you can get here depends on how many minis you have already. If you don't have one, buy a gold and green (or wait for febuary for the gold, don't remember the name of the festival though). 5/8 shouldn't be that far away if you spend some money to buy the last minis. All the way up to 8/8 is reasonable depending on the amount of minis and/or money you already have.

Monument of fellowship: you have eotn = 10 heroes = 6/8

Monument of Honor: I just looked at the hom calculator, and I think you can get 25 titles with only proph + eotn, so 15/18 is possible, though some of those titles were fortune, misfortune and tresure hunter (aka very heavy time investment). It should be noted that I didn't count any pvp title except zaishen chest title. 11/18 is pretty reasonable. 13/18 with some time investment and then a lot more if you want the last 2 points possible making it 15/18.

Monument of Resilence: you can get 7 armor (or 6+obsidian if you have much money/heavy time investment) 5/8 (6/8 with obsidian...).

Monument of valor: it should be no problems with only proph + eotn, just buy a tormented weapon (from nf) from a player and you should be able to max the rest with some time investment. 5/8 easy (8/8 with some effort)

Just by adding up the ones I stated as easy you get 32/50, so you can cut down on the honor monument. However, you miss a couple of easy points by not having nf and factions, and you do indeed miss out on really good content. <3 nf

yes, you will be able to....it will cost a bit of plat to do so.

you can buy all the minipets as well as all the weapons (and craft the oppressor weapons/destroyer ones)...

you wont be able to get all the hero armors without nightfall, and their are quite a few titles that you wont be able to do (protector/guardian/leg carto etc)...but you will be able to get plenty of titles from eye: norn, asura, ebon, deldrimor and master of the north. You will also have to do carto for prophecies which is the biggest map of them all, as well as having the most areas for vanquishing and the most missions for prot/guardian.

so it can be done....wish you lots of luck!!!

just wanted to clarify this post. if you have proph + eotn, which is needed for the HOM in the first place, then you would have the eotn heroes to dedicate plus the black widow and animal companion statues. the selection would just be alot slimmer.

Thank You for the fast replies

Hmmm, so, all of you seem to point out that it's going to be rather difficult with EotN and Prophecies alone. Perhaps I should buy NF and Factions as well then.

Would be easier to find help then anyways I guess, as when I last played Prophecies even Lions Arch was pretty empty compared to what it used to a few years ago. So, don't know, what city is the most popular now?

And I guess I've always wanted to try out Assassins. Factions would have been the last campaign I would have bought, simply because NF has heroes and EotN has HoM . Are assassins even a good class to play in solo? Or doesn't it matter which class to play in solo? Cannot even remember that heh, been rather long since I properly played GW.

I just have to say I too have only Proph + Eotn and i have 39 Points in hom, and am about to reach 40. Yes it's hard, but it can be done, money is the key here.

That would be kamadan (biggest city in nf, the place to trade).

Assassins are fine. All the professions are able to do well enough, it comes down to personal taste.

I know this wasn't directed at me but it'll give you an idea of the cash you need for HoM.
I have all the games and EoTN, and am currently at 47/50 HoM points with just a few titles left to complete.
If I do a little math here I'll give you an estimate of the cash I've spent on my Hall. I will put a * next to one that would require factions or NF.
All prices are approximate-
1100k on Zaishen Keys (+3 points)
really rough estimate of 700k on minipets (+8 points)
*120k on hero armor (+8 points) (only 6 points are available without NF)
1335k obsidian armor (+1 point)
*124k elite luxon (+1 point)
*244k vabbian (+1 point)
roughly 240k on the four EotN armors (+5 points if above 3 are also obtained)
roughly 484k for all the destroyer weapons (cheapest) (+5 points)
roughly 180k for 3 oppressor weapons or free if you do War in Kryta (+1 point)
22-23 ectoplasm or currently about 184k for one tormented weapon (+2 points if all above weapons are gotten)

Total: 4891k (if i'm not mistaken)

Of course your choices and other circumstances will affect how much these cost. And if you do not have factions and Nightfall (i believe) you'll need to get the sweet/drunk/party title which is 2000k each making the total be 10891k.

I hope this helps.

The post above me was quite good. I also did all 3 spam titles ( alc, party, sweet ). Each one was about 1000k ( with enough effort, u can get 100g / point).
Since you only need 30, I would do it like this : Buy all of the minis - cheapest gold is around 35k and green maybe 70k. Whites range from 2k - 25k. The cheapest mini option would set you back about 550k. U can get 6 fellowship points - not hard, just do the quests. With minis, thats 14+3 u have from the beginning. We need 13 more. 5 weapons shouldn't be too hard, dont remember the prices though - 5 points. At last, get any title - 2 points ant try the z-title (expensive - 1-1.5 mil but 3 points ). As for the armors, I think they cost about 70k, excluding the obby (see above post). Hope this was helpful. Once you start collectiong points, it will be much easier. I was very casual and still reached 39, so I dont think u will have problems with 30

Just to clarify this point, you will need to charm a black widow spider in the Underworld to get the full 6/8, otherwise with just a regular pet and the 10 heroes you will have 5/8 points.

Couple small things to also keep in mind:

Wintersday is coming up and as previous posters mentioned it's a good event for drops and presents from quests that give you sweets/party/alcohol items toward the respective title tracks. During WD there are also collectors who will trade loot drops for sweet/party/alcohol items. Some of the drops you'll likely encounter while running around Prophecies. Depending on how much farming you do (some ppl like it ), the drops can help a wee bit toward those titles.

For minipets, this sticky from the Price Check forum is a good guide for the price you can expect to pay. The Trade forums on Guru are also a good place to look for minis.

For trading centers, Kammy is busiest for all-around trading. LA tends to be a close second during certain festivals/etc. EotN outpost tends to have mostly ppl selling slightly overpriced minis and EotN hero armors.

Also, if you stopped playing before 11/13/2008, all the campaigns and EotN have storybooks. Keep them in your toon's bags when running missions and they'll keep track of which ones you've done/still need. When full, they can be turned in for add'l gold/experience/rank points.

GL out there and have fun!

As aspi mentioned wintersday I must give you a tip on a repeatable holliday quest which you can farm for a lot of money. It's this one: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Snowball_Dominance
I did it last year with a ranger and some random as a necro (you can bring a hero). The necro uses Holiday blues (on the right spot) followed by ice fort and then dies. Me as a ranger stays back and then when they all aggro the necro start to pump in Flury of ice. Accept the reward and rinse and repeat. Sell the reward later.

So I'd recomend taking a ranger to eotn and getting a necro hero on that character, or party up with someone.
